The Coffee Shop offers a warm welcome to all on Saturday mornings throughout the year.
The Coffee Shop is held at Bookham Baptist Church. It is open Saturday mornings 10am to 12 noon, and is run by a friendly team of volunteers who serve a range of freshly brewed coffees and teas, and delicious cakes made by The Grange Centre
There is soft play and space to play for the children, and always a friendly welcome with time to sit, chat and relax. Some people come along on their own, others come in with friends or host their own meetings at the Coffee Shop.
We are pleased to offer a range of volunteer opportunities in the Coffee Shop. As well as the people who run the Coffee Shop throughout the year, we have welcomed school students completing their Duke of Edinburgh Award Service requirements and friends from The Grange Centre and other supported work environments.
We also serve as a community information and contact point for other local organisations. There are display boards and a folder of Community Information. Some local groups come to us and offer drop in sessions – for example Hearing Champions and Wellers Hedleys Solicitors. For the dates of forthcoming sessions, visit our Events page.
We support the Leatherhead Foodbank and Team Leaders at the Coffee Shop can issue vouchers for emergency food help. If you’d like to donate food or other useful products to the Food Bank there are collection points at Bookham Baptist Church Reception and in St Nicolas Church. We can also link you up to the Bookham-based work of CAP – Christians against Poverty, which offers support to those who are struggling with personal debt.
