The Meeting Place is seeking to start an Anna Chaplaincy for older people in Bookham and District. We want to recruit a chaplain to work 20 hours a week offering spiritual support and befriending to older people and their carers. For more details and how to apply click here.

Our Telephone Befriending Service for older people living in Bookham and the surrounding area is offering one-to-one contact for anyone feeling lonely or isolated. Click here for details.

The Language Hub are looking for a qualified TEFL teacher to join the team. Working on a voluntary basis, the teacher would share the preparation and presentation of a weekly term time lesson, focussing on all four skills but with an emphasis on spoken communication. Lessons are currently held on Zoom, but may move back into the classroom in the future. Please contact Kate Dove via the Meeting Place if you are interested and would like further details. The Community Fridge continues to redistribute food that would otherwise go to waste to those who can use it. A help-yourself table is available at the former Youth Centre at 11am to 12 noon on Saturday mornings, and we deliver food to about 150 families in Bookham and the local area, click here for details.

The Meeting Place AGM will be held on zoom on Monday 24 May 2021 at 10am.
